Process Lasso is proprietary software developed by Bitsum Technologies. This website (process-lasso.org) is an independent information and download presentation site. It is not owned or operated by Bitsum.
- Install and run Process Lasso only on computers and servers you own or are explicitly authorized to administer.
- Comply with Bitsum's End User License Agreement (EULA) when you install. Pro features require a valid license.
- Do not redistribute cracked builds, license key generators, or modified packages that remove license checks.
- Trademarks and product names belong to their owners and are used here only to identify the software.
Ethical usage statement
Process Lasso adjusts how Windows schedules and constrains processes. That power should stay aligned with respectful, lawful system administration.
- Fair use on shared machines
- On family PCs, labs, and Terminal Servers, prefer policies that keep the session usable for everyone. Avoid Disallowed Processes or Watchdog terminates that surprise other users.
- No cheating intent
- The tool does not inject into game memory. Still, do not use affinity or priority tricks to violate a game's terms of service. Prefer documented workarounds (launcher inheritance) when anti-cheat blocks direct access.
- Honest benchmarking
- When comparing responsiveness, disclose whether ProBalance, Performance Mode, or Forced Mode were enabled. Synthetic demos like CPUEater show extreme cases.
Source transparency
Process Lasso itself is proprietary, not an open-source project. Transparency for operators comes from published changelogs, FAQ answers, digital signatures on Bitsum packages when present, and a Process Governor service that enforces rules without requiring the GUI.

No-malware clarification
Legitimate Process Lasso packages from trusted channels are process management utilities, not malware. Heuristic antivirus engines may still flag ProcessGovernor.exe or update Self-Extracting archives because they touch other processes and ship compressed payloads.
If your AV names a detection such as a generic "Trojan.Agent" on Process Governor or Bitsum update SFXs, treat it as a candidate false positive: confirm the hash, restore if quarantined in error, and exclude the install directory. Historical false-positive threads exist on vendor forums.
